She currently serves as the Provincial Support Coordinator for the DBE–E³ Programme in the Western Cape, where she supports schools and youth-focused initiatives that promote practical skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and self-belief.
Jo-Anne’s career began in 2004 through her work with SEDA, supporting small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs. Over the past two decades she has continued to build her expertise across education, training, and coaching, becoming a qualified facilitator, mentor, accredited life coach, and neuro-life coach. Her background in relationship management spans more than 30 years, and she is widely recognised for her ability to encourage confidence, resilience, and growth in the individuals and communities she works with.
For the past decade, Jo-Anne has played an active role in entrepreneurship education through school-based and out-of-school programmes, helping young people develop practical skills and a belief in their own potential. She also contributes to community upliftment through her involvement in organisations such as the Mizpah Foundation and Action Volunteers Africa.
On the Thuma Mina Teaching board, Jo-Anne brings deep experience in youth empowerment, a collaborative and people-centred leadership style, and practical insight into how education and entrepreneurship can open pathways for young South Africans.
