Louis Scott
Board Member
Louis Scott studied at Stellenbosch University, where he completed his BAcc degree and later obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). After qualifying, he spent three years teaching—starting in Blue Downs and Kuils River, and later teaching primarily in Polokwane, Limpopo. Those years gave him invaluable insight into the challenges and incredible talent that exist in rural and under-resourced communities. They also shaped his conviction that education is one of the most powerful tools for unlocking potential, instilling discipline, and empowering people to thrive.
For the past ten years, Louis has worked as a professional accountant, running his own firm in Cape Town. This corporate experience has strengthened his expertise in finance, governance, and accountability, which he now brings to his role on the board. At the same time, his passion for teaching and learning continues to guide him.
Serving on the board of Thuma Mina Teaching allows Louis to bring both his professional skills and his educational background together in service of a cause he deeply believes in: uplifting learners, supporting teachers, and building a brighter future through education.
